Life comes at you fast. Feels like it was just yesterday when were talking up Kenny Hill as a Heisman contender after shredding an average South Carolina team. People were already saying he was better than Johnny Manziel and Hill’s parents were talking about trademarking his new nickname. Fast forward to the present, A&M is riding a three game losing streak and is fresh off a 59-0 beat down at the hands of Alabama and Hill is barely hanging on to his job as the starting quarterback.
The parents of Tx A&M qb K.Hill wanted to trademark Kenny Trill. Kenny backup or Kenny bench warmer might be more in order.#Cartb4horse.

Sharpe makes a very valid point. While Hill’s performance against South Carolina was very impressive, we have found out that South Carolina was extremely over hyped and not a very good football team. After that A&M beat up on teams like SMU, Lamar and Rice before squeezing out a victory against Arkansas in Jerry World. It’s safe to say that Kenny Hill got a heaping dosage of reality as his stock came crashing back down to earth. This is a textbook example of why folks should not be so quick to overreact in the moment and should wait before we rush to crown a player or team with only a small sample size to go off of.
With the quarterback competition wide open again there is a real chance we could see true freshmen Kyle Allen going forward. I don’t think that’s the best idea by any means because the kid should be carrying a clipboard and not even thinking about taking live game reps yet. I think if the A&M coaches are sincere about opening this competition back up then they need to let both guys play on Saturday against ULM. This by all means should be an easy win for A&M and they need to get every guy on the roster some game reps as they gear up for a brutal three game stretch to end the year. I don’t think you will get a clearer picture of the quarterback situation after a couple weeks of practice, you need to throw both of them in the fire and see how they perform.
