Brett Keisel and J.J. Watt play the same position for opposing teams. They didn’t play against each other, so I’m not sure how this statement could hold true.
Watt is the more ballyhooed player of the two, so he obviously gets all of the opposing offenses attention. The Texans defensive end is a star who’ll have to get used to stinging criticism like this from Steelers Cameron Heyward.
“He was the best (No.) 99 out there,” Heyward said, via ESPN.com.
The 36-year-old Keisel did have a nice game, including a key hurry that forced Houston into an early punt and an interception, both of which propelled the Steelers comeback.
Watt, though, finished with a sack, a fumble recovery, three tackles and a pair of quarterback hurries. He was also the focal point of all the Steelers blocking schemes.
Brett Keisel made one good play last night, but he wasn’t the best No. 99 on the field at all, and opposing offenses didn’t scheme to stop him 10-years-ago, let alone today.
