A Republican 13th district House Candidate in Tennessee has come up with a very interesting way to campaign advertise against his candidate. Eddie Smith mailed out an ad to smear his opponent the incumbent Gloria Johnson. In the ad Smith insinuates that Johnson made many promises to voters in order to win her previous election, but like Lane Kiffin has failed to live up to her promises.
Among other comparisons, the ad says, “Like Lane Kiffin, who made a lot of big promises to Tennesseans, Gloria Johnson went to Nashville claiming she was going to reform health care and create jobs. And like Lane Kiffin, Gloria Johnson didn’t live up to her word.”
The ad also says, “It’s time to show big talkers like Lane Kiffin and Gloria Johnson we mean business.”
Lane Kiffin took over the head coaching job of the University of Tennessee football program in 2009, but abruptly left after one season to take the University of Southern California job. He still has left a bad taste in many Tennessee constituents mouths, apparently.
