West Virginia’s 41-27 upset win over then-No. 4 Baylor last Saturday was life altering for three-students who were expelled for their roles in the postgame riots that broke out in Morgantown.
The school said that the students, who weren’t identified, were booted from campus for “various acts of misconduct” following the game.
The university announced the expulsions a short time ago:
“We have made it clear that this University will hold students accountable for their unlawful behavior,” President Gordon Gee said. “We will not allow individuals to remain enrolled who commit these crimes and damage the reputation and achievements of our faculty, staff, students, alumni and community.”
The expelled students, who are banned from school property for violating the university student code, are among 14 who were charged by various local law enforcement agencies after the riots.
