People will always compare Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan, it’s inevitable. There will always be comparisons on who the better player is and where they rank among the all time greats, but recently Lakers head coach Byron Scott made a not so flattering comparison between the two.
“There’s some parallel to it,” Lakers coach Byron Scott said. “Kobe didn’t retire or come back. But he’s coming off an injury and coming off of retirement. Michael played with the Wizards. That wasn’t the Chicago Bulls, a team he wasn’t used to playing with. Kobe’s still with the Lakers, but playing with a group of guys that aren’t like the group he’s been accustomed to playing with. There are some parallels.”
I think most Jordan fans would like to forget that MJ ever put on a Wizards uniform and I don’t think that’s the type of thing Laker fans want to hear about their franchise player as his career comes to a close. While Kobe is playing well so far this year despite LA’s struggles, I hope he doesn’t hang onto the game too long chasing one more ring.
