Cam has finally said something fans and critics could easily tell, he’s hurt. Despite what head coach Ron Rivera says about Cam being fine, he just isn’t.
According to ESPN, acknowledged Wednesday in Charlotte, that he wasn’t 100% and that he was indeed hurt.
“If you are asking me am I hurt right now? Yeah, I’m hurt. I haven’t felt 100 percent for a long time,” said Newton, whose Panthers will take a four-game losing streak into Sunday’s game against Atlanta. “But is that going to be my excuse as to why we’re on a losing streak? No. Absolutely not.”
“But if you ask me a question, ‘Is Cam Newton hurt?’ Yes, I’m hurt. That is all honesty. But can I play? Yes, I can play and I will be playing.”
“But I know if we were on a four-game winning streak nobody would be caring about that. It’s all about getting a win. When you win, everything else works out fine.”
Cam is absolutely correct, majority of last season he played with an injured ankle and no one brought up his injury until now. The Carolina Panthers are heading into Sunday with a four game losing streak, but shockingly they are still in the running to take over the NFC South. The Panthers front office needs to make an immediate and safe decision concerning Cam Newton, do you allow your franchise QB to continue playing hurt with the option of hurting him permanently with the possibility of losing him or do you sit him the rest of the season and allow Derek Anderson to take over?
