“The Notorious” Conor McGregor is quickly living up to that moniker.
Conor has been polarizing because of his gift of gab, but a tweet a few days ago put Conor between a rock & a hard place.
McGregor quickly deleted the tweet and issued this apology:
The first sentence translates into “I’m Sorry” in German, but the clever and quick thinking McGregor couldn’t back away from his mistake that easily. Social media quickly screen capped the image and the conversation began. Did Conor go too far? Is Conor out of control? Is the UFC protecting Conor?
The UFC knows that finding fighters with Conor McGregor’s showmanship and fighting skills are like finding Wonka’s golden ticket, so why wouldn’t they protect him? The real question is: How do they control what he says before he says it?
Alas, that is something that cannot be controlled. In fact, that is the very essence of Conor McGregor. With that the UFC will have to deal with Conor occasionally stepping too far over the line of political correctness. In this instance Conor went way too far, but the only way that he’ll learn from this is by getting pummelled by Dennis Siver.
We’ll all have to watch on January 18th to see if Siver can make Conor eat his words.
