The Cowboys are currently in contract negotiations with Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant and want to sign him to a long term contract. Reportedly the Cowboys offered Bryant a 10 year deal worth $114 million with only $20 million guaranteed.
Cowboys chief operating officer Stephen Jones said the team has offered Bryant a contract but nothing has been agreed to. Bryant recently changed representation and now is with Jay Z’s Roc Nation firm.
“We’ve offered him some really nice contracts,” Stephen Jones said to the Dallas Morning News. “We also have to respect his views on where it is. My take on those things is that they ultimately find a way. I have a lot of confidence we will. I think Dez wants to be here and I know we want him here.”
Bryant has 56 catches for 793 yards and eight touchdowns this season for the Cowboys and is a big reason why they are 7-3 heading into the bye week. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has made it known that he wants Bryant to have a star on his helmet for the rest of his career. As we all know, money talks so that will depend largely on the type of contract the boys in blue whip up for their all star wide receiver.
