The judge in the Adrian Peterson child abuse case, Kelly Case, has accepted Peterson’s plea agreement, leaving the door open for him to return to the Vikings organization. The details of Peterson’s plea agreement have been revealed.
By accepting the deal, Peterson will have to go on probation, pay a $4,000 fine and perform 80 hours of community service. The plea reportedly includes no reference to family violence or violence against a minor.
The most important thing is the agreement is that Peterson’s plea report is that there is no acknowledgment of violence against a minor. It’s now up to Roger Goodell to determine how the NFL will interpret the plea agreement and whether or not Peterson will be allowed to return to the team. The other matter at hand is whether Peterson’s admission to have “smoked a little weed” while awaiting trial will mean he is subject to the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
