J.R. Smith and the Knicks is struggling learning the triangle offense and perhaps Smith struggled in American history. The hot and cold Knick shooting guard made himself look like a fool Tuesday night by posting a picture on Instagram comparing to “Black Friday” to slavery. The post read as follows:
“DID YOU KNOW: Black Friday stemmed from slavery? It was the day after Thanksgiving when slave traders would sell slaves for a discount to assist plantation owners with more helpers for the upcoming winter (for cutting and stacking fire wood, winterproofing etc.), hence the name,” read the graphic, complete with an illustration of a slave auction.
After twitter universe was put on notice they blasted Smith post and dropped some knowledge on his post about “Black Friday”.
“It’s called Black Friday because businesses get into the black (profit) for the year, because it’s the biggest day.”
Smith only reaction to the push back was to delete his post. Smith may have deleted the post but instagram users took screenshots of the post for record.
Hopefully J.R. can stay out of these situations where it does not look like he is a smart person, but seems like Smith isn’t smart enough to avoid these situations.
