If people assumed that with Darren Wilson not being indicted for the murder of Michael Brown that people would just stop caring they were wrong.
Even though Wilson wasn’t indicted, doesn’t mean the problem goes away. There is still a serious issue of cops killing unarmed black men, so good for Stedman Bailey, Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Chris Givens, and Kenny Britt for not ignoring what is going on and acknowledging it.
Silence isn’t the way to make things better, we have to keep discussing, keep protesting and holding those in power accountable for their actions. Regardless of if you believe Darren Wilson’s account or not, Michael Brown’s death was avoidable, but when you are seen as a subhuman and it makes it easy for cops to eliminate the problem when they know the system is on their side. Until that changes, these killings will continue.
