After facing felony child abuse charges for hitting his son so hard with a switch that he bled, Vikings RB Adrian Peterson pleaded no contest to misdemeanor reckless assault. With this sentence he will face no jail time but he must pay a $4,000 fine and perform 80 hours of community service. According to a report, an attempt to reinstate him immediately has been rejected by the NFL.

The NFL rejected an attempt by representatives for Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson to have him immediately reinstated after his plea agreement this week and refused to discuss any settlement over his playing status, report Fox Sports’ Mike Garofolo.
Now that the legal case has been settled, the NFL must now decide how they are going to punish Peterson.
