The unrest in the Bears locker room continues. A few players who asked to remain anonymous admitted that they were “confused and uncomfortable” over the way Marc Trestman handled Jay Cutler as opposed to how he handled offensive coordintor Aaron Kromer, even after Kromer admitted that he was the one bad-mouthing Cutler to the media. The players said they don’t disagree with the decision to bench Cutler for Jimmy Clausen. However, they found it very unsettling that Kromer was basically given practically no punishment at all after he confessed to making very critical comments about Jay Cutler to the media.
Although the players asked to remain anonymous, this does show that maybe there is a lack of trust for Trestman in the Bears locker room. Trestman is supposed to speak on his decision making process for benching Cutler in a press conference after practice on Thursday. However, it would appear that more people, including the players, would like better reasoning as to how Kromer’s punishment was decided. According to ESPN, the players who spoke on their bewilderment on Kromer’s punishment are both accomplished in the NFL.
