Peyton Manning and the Broncos handled the Chargers on Sunday to clinch the AFC West. Manning didn’t look too good though as he battled flu-like symptoms and did his best impression of a regular quarterback.
The Broncos weren’t sure that Manning was even returning to the game after halftime. Manning suffered a thigh injury in the second quarter and coach John Fox didn’t think Peyton would come out the tunnel again.

Coach John Fox said they “were unsure at halftime, to be honest with you,” if Manning would come back.
“Until Peyton made the cavalry entrance [out of the tunnel] at the start of the third quarter, we were prepared otherwise,” Fox said. “But I think it’s a tribute to the kind of toughness Peyton has and the kind of competitor he is that he got up and did a tremendous job in those conditions.”
Peyton came out and threw his only touchdown of the game that third quarter to Demaryius Thomas. Broncos worried about further injury may have preferred for Peyton to sit it out but Broncos won and all is right.
