Jon Jones took some time out from sneak dissing Daniel Cormier to give his thoughts on CM Punk’s UFC signing.
It’s safe to say that Jones isn’t all aboard the CM Punk bandwagon but he sees the upside of bringing in such a high profile entertainer.
“I think it’s an awesome thing for the sport, it’s going to bring a lot of publicity,” Jones said.
He went on to say that it’s bittersweet because it’s unfair to the young fighters that are working to reach the UFC.
“(These guys are) living in the gym, eating turkey and peanut butter, bare minimum to chase this dream, and then a superstar like (Punk) just gets to jump into the UFC just because he knows the right people and has a name,” said Jones.
“I just think it’s unfair for the people who have been working their tails off to earn this opportunity. That’s why I really hope UFC gives him a real opponent, so we can watch him get knocked out.”
Jones becomes the latest UFC fighter to add his name to the list of Phil “CM Punk” Brooks doubters.
