Michigan State and Notre Dame were all tied up at 67 as time was running out in regulation. Notre Dame’s Jerian Grant took the ball to the basket and appeared to have been fouled on the play. The referees did not see it that way and decided to let time expire and allow the teams to go to overtime.
Notre Dame Coach Mike Brey was not happy with the no call. In fact he was so upset that he made sure to let the referee know that he should have had the grapefruits to make that call.
Notre Dame still came out on top 79-78 so it all came out great for them in the grand scheme of things. What do you think? Should it have been called or were the refs right to let the players decide it on the court instead of with free throws.
