Oklahoma State running back Tyreek Hill was arrested after he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face, and choked her.
The name of the involved female was withheld from the release, which indicated that she and her boyfriend – identified as the 20-year-old Hill – had been arguing at Hill’s residence and that it escalated into a physical altercation.
Hill was contacted at his home around 11 p.m. and arrested “based on probable cause for Domestic Abuse by Strangulation.”
As of 9:30 a.m. Friday morning, Hill was still being held in the Payne County Jail. If convicted, the maximum penalty could be one to three years in prison and/or a $3,0000 fine.
The media release indicates that the woman claimed to have been struck by Hill on the face and stomach, and that he also had choked her. The release indicates that “the victim’s injuries were consistent with her statements,” and adds that she was treated and released from the hospital.
Hill’s arrest comes less than a week after the speedy running back led the Cowboys to a come-from-behind win over Oklahoma in the Bedlam game.
Hill’s 92-yard punt return in the fourth quarter tied the game at 35-35 and helped force overtime.
More details have come from police report.
According to an incident report, obtained from the Stillwater police department, Hill’s girlfriend told police she is eight weeks pregnant with Hill’s child and was concerned about the health of the child due to Hill allegedly punching her in the stomach.
The woman also told police she began dating Hill in June and that he had a “volatile temper”. She said he thought it was OK to punch and shake her. She also told police he had been violent with her before.
Also according to the incident report, as he was being arrested Hill told police it was because he was black and she was white.
Unless she is making it up, I don’t see what her being white has to do with anything. If she is lying doesn’t matter if she is black or white, that would be wrong. If he is beating her, he should be thrown under the jail.
