In the end, the only thing in my mind that is going to make Mayweather fight Pacquiao is a boatload of money and control over the promotion.
I don’t think making fun of him and calling him out in the media is going to work, but that is what Pacquiao is being told to do via Boxing Scene.
In past interviews, Pacquiao was quiet. But now the boxer and his team are pressing the issue in interviews, on social networks and plan to continue their verbal assault.
Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, is hoping to reach a deal for the fight with CBS CEO Les Moonves.
“We’ve gotta antagonize this guy to get him to come to the table, I think,” Roach told The Los Angeles Daily News. “So Manny’s talking and I told Manny, ‘Manny, you keep doing that commercial. Do that every time you talk to somebody from the press. Because then they can write something about how bad you want the fight. But if you don’t say nothing, they can’t write nothing. I said, ‘If the press gets behind it, and the boxing world is already behind it, I think it will make more noise for us and I think it’ll make the fight happen faster.’”
