Charlotte resident, Crystal Davis, is a single mother of 5 and on the Sunday before Christmas, her house was broken into. The robbers took all her gifts from under her tree and her story was televised on the local news station. Carolina Panthers defensive line coach, Eric Washington, saw the story and decided to share some Christmas joy.
While Washington prepared for the big NFC Showdown in Atlanta, his wife and sister, took it upon themselves to go shopping for the family to replace what the robbers took.
Per NBC:
Crystal is a big Panthers fan. The ornaments on her tree are the Panthers’ colors, so to learn it was Coach Washington and his family who wanted to help had special meaning.
“Oh thank you so much, we are your number one fans,” Crystal said as her kids oohed and ahhed over the gifts.
Amy Washington said, “We are just so thrilled to be able to share the holiday with Ms. Davis and her family. “We think every child should wake up and have a smile on Christmas morning.”
Christmas is all about being able to help others and sharing joy. Its amazing to see that great people are still out there to lend a hand.
