Jim Harbaugh has been in the headlines for the last month concerning his decision in whether he was going to continue his pro career or return back to college. Well his decision has been made and at noon today, Michigan will announce their new head coach. In recruiting Harbaugh, Michigan has caught flak with making him a contract he couldn’t refuse. Initially, Michigan offered nearly $8M a year, which would make him the highest paid coach in CFB. According to recent reports, Harbaugh has decided to take around $5M and to allow the rest in search for assistant coaches.
BREAKING NEWS: Straight from UM AD Jim Hackett. Harbaugh's salary will be roughly $5M a year, plus incentives, same basic contract as 49ers.

Jim Harbaugh told Hackett he did NOT want to be the highest paid coach in CFB, or even the Big Ten. More concerned with pay for assistants.

Harbaugh is looking to have a lot of say in his crew around him. Can you blame him? With more say in your coaching team, you’re able to have more control but there is a downside, if you’re not able to produce, it falls back to you. Harbaugh should have no worries, he has impressive pro and college records and Michigan may have just hit the jackpot.
