Holly Holm’s long awaited UFC debut will happen at February’s UFC 184 in Los Angeles according to “sources.”
MMAjunkie has confirmed with multiple sources close to the fighters that verbal agreements are in place with both athletes and that bout agreements are expected to be finalized shortly.
The sources spoke on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to publicly discuss such matters. Holm’s pending medical clearance, which she is expected to obtain as soon as this week, is said to be the only remaining roadblock before UFC brass can officially announce the matchup.
This is intriguing because it’s the same card that features bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. A Rousey vs Holm match up would be a dream for the UFC and with this scheduling they’d be matched on the same recovery timetable, baring injury.
It’s safe to assume that both Ronda and UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman will once again headline the July 4th fight week card in Las Vegas. The Rousey vs Holm match up would be an easy sell to both hardcore MMA fans and the casual viewers.
