Well this is kind of unfortunate news for the Utah Jazz via The Salt Lake Tribune. It appears talented guard Alec Burks’ shoulder injury is more serious than initially thought.
Utah Jazz shooting guard Alec Burks will likely need surgery for his ailing shoulder, and could potentially miss the remainder of the season, a source told The Salt Lake Tribune on Friday evening.
For now, the Jazz have said they are seeking multiple opinions on the injury. General Manager Dennis Lindsey told 1280 AM on Friday that Burks will be out indefinitely.
The Jazz signed Burks to a contract extension prior to the season so the injury is unfortunate from that perspective for the organization, but it will open up more playing time for other young players like a Dante Exum and Rodney Hood.
