Robert Griffin III is fed up with social media, or at least the criticism he gets through the interwebs. So to remedy the situation RG3 has decided to shut down and stay off social media for the rest of the season labeling it as something of a distraction. Griffin doesn’t want anymore of his words to be twisted and taken out of context.
Via ESPN,
Sometimes you don’t understand certain things and they don’t go the way you want them to go, but if I get criticized for retweeting about going to a charity event for a foundation, I mean what else can you do? So I decided to shut it down and not focus on it.
The Redskins QB is also going all “blah” in news conferences trying not to give the media stuff to run with like he did when he blamed his teammates after a tough loss to Tampa Bay recently. Griffin took some flack for blaming the team when he should be taking some of it on his own chin. Coach Gruden wasn’t happy and he may have spoken with RG3 in private to let him know to reel in the reigns. We will be seeing a more subdued and boring Griffin in press conferences and then he can return to fending off internet trolls in the offseason.
