Richard Sherman and Patrick Peterson play the same positon, so the back and forth banter is reduced to comparison of stats between the two star corners.
Sherman doesn’t get tested much, so short of the occasional dig route or lucky deep ball, his numbers suggest shut down corner.
Patrick Peterson on the other hand shadows the opposing teams best wide receiver, subjecting him to more opportunities to give up big plays and scores.
Peterson gave up seven touchdowns last season and has been burned deep on a few occasions this season as well. Sherman took a dig at Peterson when he said he would have been benched in Seattle for giving up all the touchdowns Peterson did last season.
Richard Sherman on Patrick Peterson giving up seven TDs last year: "If I gave up that many touchdowns I'd be benched on our team."
