Tim Tebow is quickly climbing the college football analyst ranks, and according to Richard Deitsch, the former Heisman Trophy winner will make his debut as a game analyst at the Peach Bowl between No. 9 Ole Miss and No. 6 TCU.
ESPN has assigned Tebow to work with play by play announcer Joe Tessitore, fellow analyst Brock Huard and reporter Shannon Spake during the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. No. 6 TCU versus No. 9 Ole Miss will square off at the Georgia Dome on Dec. 31 at 12:30 p.m. ET. The news was first reported by USA Today.
Tebow spent the fall as a studio analyst for the SEC Network, working with Tessitore on SEC Nation. As a broadcaster, Tebow was a pleasant surprise. A vanilla interview as a player (though exceedingly polite), Tebow’s energy and enthusiasm worked on television, and he was exceptionally prepared on the rosters of the SEC. Tessitore told SI.com in August that Tebow possessed one of the most important things a broadcaster could possess: Humility. He wanted to get better.
“I know that he has told our producers that he wants constant feedback, he wants to be coached, and he wants to be great at TV,” Tessitore said. “He calls and texts me non-stop to discuss every detail of everything we’re doing…That’s commitment to preparation. He wants to grow and he finds that rewarding. So long-term I feel Tim is very committed to broadcasting.”
