Embattled boxing champion Jermain Taylor has been sent to a mental hospital for a physical and mental evaluation following a bond revocation hearing after he fired shots at a Martin Luther King Jr. event.
According to THV11’s Marielle Mohs, the state wants Jermain Taylor to have a mental evaluation to see if he’s fit to proceed to trial and if he were competent at the time the crime was committed.
Defense attorney Hubert Alexander said his team is “okay” with the order and wants to know “who Jermain Taylor is.”
Taylor will be moved to the hospital possibly later Tuesday. His bail has not been revoked or reinstated.
