CFL wide receiver Duron Carter, son of Hall of Fame WR Cris Carter is close to inking a deal in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts.
Carter played for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League last season and per his deal with the team, he will be released from his contract immediately if he signs an NFL contract.
Carter is 6-foot-5 and had 75 catches for 1,030 yards and 7 TDs last season for the Alouettes.
Undrafted in 2013 in the NFL, Carter drew interest from the San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Redskins.
If Carter reaches a deal with the Colts, it may be too little too late for veteran receivers such as Reggie Wayne and Hakeem Nicks.
