After taking a brief hiatus, those ‘Goodell Must Go’ Banners are back. At Sunday’s AFC and NFC Championship games, the national women’s advocacy group UltraViolet will fly banners with a three-word message: “Goodell Must Go.”
UltraViolet flew banners at select games for multiple weeks in the immediate aftermath of the release of the Ray Rice in-elevator video.
“The protest comes after the National Football League released a report last week by former FBI Director Robert Mueller which confirmed that Roger Goodell and the NFL were derelict in their duty by taking no initiative to uncover the facts in the Ray Rice domestic abuse case — continuing the NFL’s track record of failing to prosecute cases of domestic violence by NFL players and employees,” the group said in a news release.
