The UFC could use a huge bounce back year after 2014 was filled with injuries & rescheduled fights.
They’ve started 2015 off on a great note but they could use every star they have to make it a memorable year. One star that doesn’t seem to be walking into the octagon in 2015 is Georges St. Pierre. UFC President Dana White seems to think differently:
“I really do think that Georges St-Pierre will be back in 2015.”
GSP’s manager has different plans and sees windows opening up for him outside of MMA:
“There is no plan for 2015,” Rodolphe Beaulieu responded. “We are working on a few projects, but nothing related for him coming back in the octagon.”
St. Pierre seems to be somewhere in the middle when it comes to his comments:
“I’m going to tell you the truth, I always train. I started training when I was seven years old, and I never stopped. Training is part of my life, so it doesn’t mean anything,” St-Pierre said on a Chael Sonnen podcast.
“It doesn’t mean that I’m going to be back or not. Whether I retire or not, or if I come back or not, I’m always going to be training. I like to feel in shape. I like to feel good in my own skin and that’s why I’m training.”
GSP had a role last year as a villain in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and this year he will star in the “Kickboxer” remake.
Looks like GSP is perfectly fine being away from the octagon.
