Count former NBA great Hakeem Olajuwon to the list of former NBA greats scoffing at the notion that LeBron James could ever be better than Michael Jordan.
The debate over whether LeBron James is a better player than Michael Jordan will always exist, but for one of the greatest NBA players of all time, it’s not even close.
The Former Houston Rockets star told CNBC on Thursday that it’s always been MJ, and it always will be.
“When people start comparing (James) with Jordan, then that’s not a fair comparison,” Olajuwon said. “Jordan was a far more superior player in a very tough league, he was very creative.” “That’s not taking away anything from LeBron because he is a great player, but it is not a fair comparison because Jordan is a far superior player.”
Olajuwon’s comments hold weight right now because no Michael Jordan led team ever started the season out 19-20.
