With Phil Jackson trading Iman Shumpert and JR Smith in a three-team deal to the Cavs, this season is officially a wrap.
It’s over. Jackson will likely waive the three players coming in from the trade, and play things out with a mixture of young guys and expiring contracts. Then comes the question of Carmelo Anthony and what to do with him. Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Carmelo Anthony is resistant to resting his injured knee, even though the Knicks essentially want him to shut it down, and get healthy.

It more than makes sense, and would allow Anthony to return later in the season if he’s healthy. If not, prepare for a summer of recruitment and promise.
