Reggie Bush has found himself a nice situation in Detroit, and according to various reports, Bush would like to return to the Lions.
Bush has two years remaining on his deal and is scheduled to make $3.5 million next season and $4 million in 2016.
“I think I have a lot left to give this game,” Bush said to the Detroit Free Press. “My body still feels pretty good, obviously with the exception of the injuries that I went through. But my body feels good, I don’t feel worn down, I don’t feel beat up as a running back.”
Bush, 29, had 297 rushing yards, and 253 receiving yards this season while missing five games with ankle injuries. Joique Bell, Bush’s primary backup, scored seven touchdowns while averaging 3.9 yards per carry. Bell was adequate at times, but never good enough for the Lions to simply move on. Detroit ranked 28th in the NFL in rushing at 88.9 yards a game.
Bush’ cap number for 2015 is $5.28 million and the team would save nearly $2 million in salary cap room if they moved on.
