Redskins QB Robert Griffin III is already preparing for the 2015 NFL season, and his first goal is to stay healthy. In a recent interview on ESPN 980 Washington DC, Griffin states that everything will work out for he and the Redskins if he can simply avoid the injury bug that has plagued him his entire tenure in Washington.
“Stay healthy, go out and have funand play the game, and the rest will fall in place,” Griffin said. “I think with the moves that we’ve made, that the coach and the G.M. have made, it will allow us to be in a better position to win games, and I think all the guys are excited about that. You never want to see guys go, coaches and players, but I know coaches have to do what’s best for the team, and we all hope and pray we end up winning.”
Griffin has had a variety of injuries since he has been a Redskin, most notably the torn ACL from the NFC Wild-Card game in 2013 against the Seattle Seahawks. Last season Griffin had a dislocated ankle that caused him to miss 6 regular season game, and he never seemed quite right after that. Griffin’s relationship with new head coach Jay Gruden began to sour, and culminated in his benching for Colt McCoy. Griffin will need to be healthy all off season if he wants to prove to coach Gruden that he is ready to lead the Redskins into the future.
