If we know one thing and one thing only, we know that Marshawn Lynch has stepped his business game up his second time around at the Super Bowl.
This year Marshawn Lynch came back to the Super Bowl with a calculated approach, and a brand to turn the tables on the league, and make this work for him.
“Beast Mode” was born. All week Lynch has been sporting his apparel at the Super Bowl media days, and his fans have responded resoundingly, as Darren Rovell reports.
Lynch’s Beast Mode clothing line is in its infancy, but it has the makings of a legitimate operation.
The business is a partnership between Lynch and the agency that represents him, Relativity Sports. Chris Bevans, a former Nike apparel designer, runs the label, which currently has about 25 different products.
“If we do this right, Beast Mode could be doing $50 million in sales within the next five years,” said Bevans, who insists Lynch has already received calls from big players in the apparel space who offered to run the business.
The “Beast Mode” Pop-up Shop has been selling gear (like we see below) left and right, which is a definite good thing for Lynch since the league has found itself adept at mining the lining’s of his pockets.
I don’t know about you, but I’m always happy to see an athlete making money for himself. Call me crazy, but I’m also glad to see Marshawn Lynch coming into his own as not only a successful man, but a successful business man throughout this process.
