Cleveland Browns coach Mike Pettine revealed Wednesday that he recently sat down with quarterback Johnny Manziel — who’s currently receiving treatment in a rehab facility.
“I did go to visit him last week,” Pettine told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine. “I’ll keep the details of that private, just to respect his privacy and the situation that he’s in.”
Manziel checked himself into rehab during the Super Bowl — ending an awful rookie season that saw him play just seven quarters of football.
“I just wanted to go visit him and see how he’s doing and let him know that we’re proud of him for the decision that he made to go in,” Pettine said. “Obviously he has our full support.”
