The flacons have released RB Steven Jackson, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Jackson spent 2 seasons in Atlanta, after 9 seasons as a St. Louis Ram. Jackson saw his production drop-off dramatically for the Falcons after 8 straight 1,000 yard rushing seasons from 2005-2012 in St. Louis. A 10 year-career is nothing to sneeze at for Jackson, and he spent the majority of those years as a productive player. Unfortunately, Jackson was never able to participate in a playoff game, and that will most certainly be a blemish on any potential hall of fame talk. The Falcons will save $3.7 million against the cap by releasing Jackson.
