Dalia Jacobs, who has a child with Joseph Randle, has asked a Kansas court to issue a protective order against him, saying he “has a history of being both physically and emotionally abusive towards me.”
The request was filed a day after Jacobs called Wichita police and reported a domestic violence disturbance.
She told police Randle was “out of control,” and had threatened her and their son with a gun.
Police didn’t find a handgun at the hotel where Randle was staying and instead cited him for marijuana possession. The next day, Dalia filed a petition for a protective order in the District Court of Sedgwick County.
She accused Randle of being abusive and threatening to take their son away from her.
In the request, she said Randle became angry with her on Feb. 2 in front of their son, Daniel. Jacobs said her friend took Daniel out of the home and put him in the passenger seat of her car.
Jacobs alleged that Randle walked to his vehicle, retrieved a handgun and pointed the gun at Jacobs’ friend.
“He told me at this point that he was going to ‘blast my vehicle,’” Jacobs wrote in the filing.
She said Randle then smashed the car window with his fist, causing glass to shatter across the couple’s son and Jacobs’ friend.
“The defendant has a violent temper and gets angry quickly,” Jacobs wrote.
