NBA star LeBron James now has another title to add to his name, Vice President of the National Basketball Players Association. LeBron will work alongside his very close friend Chris Paul, who was elected president of the NBPA last year. LeBron considered running for president of the union in 2013 but backed out when Chris Paul announced his candidacy.
LeBron has always vocally shown his leadership. He served as one of the voices of the players during the 2011 lockout. He sit down for numerous negotiations with the league sharing his feelings about how max contracts were unfair to him and other star players. The best players in the NBA voices have always carried more weight than role players. Now that the NBPA is ran by two stars, LeBron and Paul, how will this effect role players in the future?
Lebron will be replacing free-agent Rodger Mason Jr. who was served as the first Vice President.
