It looks like the Green Bay Packers will be making some changes to their coaching staff which would result in head coach Mike McCarthy no longer calling the shots for offensive plays.
According to Yard Barker, Green Bay reporter Chris Havel reported that Edgar Bennett will be the offensive coordinator; Bennett is a former running back for the Packers. The team will also make Tom Clements an associate head coach with play-calling duties.
This change may have stemmed from Aaron Rodgers who reportedly complained about the offense becoming “too conservative late in the game.” It is unknown if other factors contributed to the decision.
