Carmelo Anthony is set to end his season sometime after the All-Star game, but that doesn’t mean he’s not dreaming of his own super team.
With a ton of cap space looming, Anthony told the New York Post that he’s dreaming of his own Knicks big three.
“Hopefully,’’ said Anthony, whose season may be coming to an end after he aggravated his injured left knee in Monday’s 109-95 loss to the Heat. “We’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Hopefully just seeing what happened down here and were able to create for the last four years, it worked out pretty well for them. Hopefully we can stay in that direction.’’
Anthony could have a big two, but it’s unlikely to ever be a big three after Anthony signed for the max last summer.
The Knicks have $30 million of cap space that Phil Jackson is more likely to spread around on second-tier stars.
