Manny Pacquiao opened as the underdog at most sports book for his May 2nd fight with Floyd Mayweather and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I’ve been in this situation many times in my previous fights. It doesn’t care me. I love being the underdog. It even motivates me to train harder to go for the crown.”
Despite Manny saying he embraces the underdog role he hasn’t been on this side of the betting public in over a decade. This will be the first time he is facing a fighter widely considered better than him and Manny will need to bring his best to take this fight from Mayweather.
Mayweather is obviously used to entering fights as the favorite and he’s preformed well with that pressure on him. He knows that his undefeated record is on the line as well as his place in boxing history. The last thing he needs is odds makers to motivate him.
Later on in the interview Manny was asked whether their was a rematch clause in the fight contract:
Manny said, “That wasn’t even discussed.”
