The Ravens have released Wide Receiver and Kickoff/Punt Return Specialist Jacoby Jones, according to the NFL Networks Ian Rapoport. The Ravens probably decided to move in a different direction after diminishing returns on the field for Jones. At least they can never take away that amazing catch he made in the 2013 Divisional Round Playoffs that broke Denver and Peyton Manning’s back and the 108 yard Super Bowl kickoff return.
Jones remains one of the NFL’s best kickoff returners, but he caught just nine passes last year, and the Ravens have decided he’s not worth that kind of money. Now he’ll become a free agent, and an attractive one for some team that needs help on special teams. –Pro Football Talk
The #Ravens have released WR Jacoby Jones, who was due $2.5M. Doesn’t even save any cap space.
