Russell Westbrook took time from his MVP type season to give back to the kids in the Oklahoma City community. Westbrook’s “Why Not?” Foundation opened their second reading room in Oklahoma City elementary school. The Why Not Foundation partnered with Scholastic Books and Oklahoma City Public Schools to create the room, which is filled with 1,200 books.
Westbrook foundation goal is to build more reading rooms around Oklahoma City. Westbrook attended the opening to meet the kids and read to the kids. The Thunder are in the middle of a playoff race but its nice to see Westbrook take time to give back to kids in the community that idolize him.
