Zach Mettenberger is a confident guy, but if the Tennessee Titan use the No. 2 pick on either Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota — he’s likely destined for clipboard holder.
The 2014 sixth-round pick put that confidence on display during an event in Nashville where he told reporters he could beat out both Heisman winners for the starting job.
“They are obviously very talented guys,” Mettenberger said. ” … If they were here I think they would say the same thing: If we had to compete out there, I think I’d beat them out.”
General manager Ruston Webster said Wednesday at the combine that the Titans haven’t given up on Mettenberger at quarterback, despite their low draft pick.
