Racial tension is very high in this country right now. That didn’t stop one AT&T customer service representative from sending a very racist and explicit text to a concerned customer.

Rosemary, who didn’t want to use her last name in this report, said she is still shaken after a call to AT&T customer service took a horrible turn.
“I’m very upset and very nervous for my safety and my daughter.” Rosemary said.
She said she was complaining about data charges and when she challenged the AT&T representative’s answer the call became ugly.
“I said, ‘Is something going on? You’re being rude,’” said Rosemary.
She said the female representative hung up on her.
According to Rosemary, several alarming text messages followed. She called them verbal and racial abuse.
In the texts the AT&T employee wrote, “Listen here you black dumb (expletive) you have a (expletive) smart phone.….You don’t know a (expletive) thing instead you’re (expletive) trying to be smart.”
“I feel violated. It’s not right that they did that,” Rosemary said.
She said the worst text came last.
“You!!! The black (expletive) monkey!!…Oooh one more thing (expletive) up (expletive).”
Rosemary said that later that same night she received a call from the representative.
She called my home at 2 a.m. She called my number, didn’t say anything,” said Rosemary.
Rosemary said that after complaining to AT&T and not getting answers, she called Action 9’s Todd Ulrich. She said she was worried about what else could happen.
“Right now I’m in fear because this lady has my personal information,” said Rosemary.
I’m glad that the representative has been fired, but AT&T should go to extra lengths to ensure the safety of Rosemary. It is clear the rep has her information and there’s no telling what she will try to do now that she’s lost her job.
