While early reports from the NFL’s first veteran combine seemed to show that many veterans didn’t have much promise left, one player showed that the combine did serve a purpose.
After struggling with wide receivers, in addition to quarterbacks in 2014, the Arizona Cardinals have officially added another receiver to try to add a spark to their offense.
Running a 4.5 in the 40, easily the fastest receiver time at the vet. combine, Nathan Slaughter who was a former member of the Jacksonville Jaguars roster, was signed by the Cardinals just hours after participating.
Slaughter, 23, played college football for West Texas and the Jaguars, where he did not post any stats because he was cut after training camp.
Only time will tell if Slaughter makes the final 53 man roster, however getting a contract is a huge step and seemingly huge win for the veteran combine process.
