Heading into the NCAA Tournament, a lot of people were riding the Iowa State wave. The Cyclones finished second in the Big 12 and were coming off a conference tournament championship.
Georges Niang led the way all season long. The junior averaged 15.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.4 dimes a game, but in the biggest game of the season he came up short.
In the Cyclones first round matchup against UAB, Niang only scored 11 points on 3-of-19 shooting.
That lousy performance is probably why Niang is coming back for his senior campaign.
