With March Madness looming, basketball fans around the country are starting to kick into high gear. One Pastor in Kentucky took things to the next level by cleverly disguising the back pews as reserved for the Wildcats’ rivals.
Kentucky pastor David Tucker had a pretty creative idea for how to get his congregation to sit at the front of the church.
Tucker reserved seating for Duke and Louisville fans in the back pews as well as cutouts of rival coaches such as Rick Pitino, while a cutout of Kentucky head coach John Calipari sat right up in the front.
Say what you want about this guy – but I like the fire. First off, everyone knows sitting in the back row during Mass is the only way to do it. Many of us aren’t able (or choose not to) attend Mass every Sunday like we used to when we were kids. When we do go, though, we know enough to sit in the back because we’re never there. Let the real church-going people get the best seats, they deserve it.
The problem with that is that it means the majority of the population will be sitting at the back of the room, which leaves the Pastor talking to a bunch of empty pews up front. By putting these signs up, not only did he just get ALL of our attention focused on attending Church, but he’s also supporting his team in a clever and humorous manner while he’s at it.
That’s what we call a win, win people. Good for this guy.
