It’s one thing to break your high school’s squat record. It’s an entirely different thing to break your school’s squat record as a freshmen. That’s exactly what Robert Simmons of West Ashley High School in South Carolina did.
Simmons measures in at a whopping 6’1, 370 pounds and still has plenty of growing to do. He went on to become a state qualifier at a state power lifting regional. His coach anticipates that he will more likely break the state record of 710 at this pace, and given his trajectory I am inclined to agree with him.
