Manny Pacquiao had a few options entering 2015 , key word being few, but in no way was he obligated to fight Floyd Mayweather.
No public, historical, or peer pressure would’ve been enough to get these two fighters together. It seems like the pressure needed to get Manny into the ring with Floyd came from some very important people in his life, his kids.
Pacquiao said: “My son and my daughter, they really wanted this fight to happen.
“Three years ago [they said] ‘Daddy, I want you to fight Mayweather. I want you to fight Mayweather.’
“I said, ‘Why? It’s not my fault. He doesn’t want to fight.’ And now finally now it finally happened. They really, really want to watch the fight.”
I’m thankful for whomever and whatever it took to make this fight happen. On May 2nd we will see arguably the biggest fight in the history of boxing.
